Hip Hop in the Ville #18 Dynasty tha Don

Written by Crystal Walker
Dynasty is most definitely making head waves throughout Nashville. Rapping since the year of 98, Dynasty brings pure talent to the ears of Nashville. Dynasty was a writer since the early stages of childhood since the 1st and 2nd grade. His love for music hit him early in life and that is his inspiration that still carries him to continue strong today. Dynasty remembers his first performance as similar to when he played sports. The butterfly effect and nervousness, but comparing that first performance to now, it’s a cake walk. Today, Dynasty brings his stage performance to a whole other level. Using extra props and devices to make a performance unforgettable is what he does. From beginning in the crowd with the lights out rapping, to smoke detectors, it’s all timed and planned to its best. He studies each past performance and reviews them to see what he could do different or better. So at each and every show you will receive something different each time. He has performed at the HHV Awards, as well as many other venues. His music is down to earth, unique, and live. Remembering the music he grew up on Dynasty feels that, back then music had true meaning. Compared to today’s music, that holds no sense of meaning at all. The music he grew up on had lyrics in songs that would leave you thinking about your situation. Dynasty brings that within his music, it says what he has been through and what’s going on around him. He has many albums and mix tapes in circulation now. In 99 Dynasty’s first album was entitled,” The Game”, then “Feel My Pain”, and after that in 08/09d “No Way Out” dropped. On Sept. 2011 “Its All Me Vol. 1” (IAM) hit the streets. For any contact information with Dynasty he can be found at facebook.com/dynastydadon myspace.com/dynastydadon youtube.com/ dynastydadon615 dnastydadon@yahoo.com ragomagazine.com

Hip Hop in the Ville #17 Black Diamond

Written by Crystal Walker
They say a diamond is a girls best friend, so what about a Black Diamond. East Nashville's own Black Diamond is cutting through the area. Growing up as a young child who played the violin at the age of 5 and listened to gospel and the blues. Music was already imbedded into her soul. As she got older her music changed with her. From gospel and blues, to rock n roll and pop, to Foxy Brown and Jay Z. She developed a keen essence of different genres of music. Watching videos, such as Madonna was all the drive she needed to pursue a career as an artist. In 2008 Black Diamond landed her first live performance. The feeling of nervousness and shyness is way different now. Black Diamond uses everything she has learned, or even remembered hearing as a child and puts it into her music. Even from picking out a track she tries to keep that same mellow, soothing blues feeling she grew up on. Black Diamond won Female Boss at the 3rd Annual HHV Awards, has had collaborations with Virgo, a RnB singer, and Axtion. Her song with Virgo is entitled,"Copy Kitty Kat". Her song with Axtion is entitled," Hottest Chick Alive" which is currently being played on 101.1 The Beat. Black Diamond mixtape should be released sometime this summer, she hasn't quite figured out the title yet. With her kids being her biggest supporters, she can teach and show them that dreams can come true. Hip Hop in the Ville #16 Black Ghost

Written by Crystal Walker
Today with music you can manage anything. From what type of music you put out to which artist you may want to invest in. Black Ghost is walking around that same realm. Putting his family unto a project that will create a good business with in the family. With his first cousin Mac Banks, his little brother Trigga, and Young. They all grew up together playing around with music. Knowing that they could possibly turn this playing around with music into a music business. Black Ghost put more of his time into searching for more talent, that was different from the average artist. Not accepting anything less than perfection, and having a ear for good music, Black Ghost knew how hard his artist could come. Black Ghost arranged a performance at Club Sensations with ION Ent. There they received a lot of respect, and love. With that performance a lot of recognition was shown. Now with major collaborations from Cheezy of Grand Hustle, Cashville Gotti, and soon to come out with Wheel Chair Gang. Black Ghost receives love from all artists around from Hi-C, Quake Squad, Positive House Prod, Young Studio, ION, and Wheel Chair Gang. They all give Black Ghost his support on his movement. Black Ghost has a mixtape coming out entitled "Paranormal Activity Vol. I, and a new group called T & C. Also with a new single and video from Mac Banks entitled," Audios". Hip Hop in the Ville #15 Crisis tha Rhyme Don

Written by Crystal Walker A Crisis has hit the greater Nashville area. The east side of Nashville where Crisis "The Rhyme Don" was born and raised.
As a young kid, Crisis remembers the music that he listened to, and what type of influence it placed upon him. Remembering, King T, NWA, and Outkast, he obtained plenty drive to begin with the music himself. Crisis has such a strong passion for music, he knew he wanted to be involved in some type of entertainment more than anything. Unlike most of the rappers/artists who only possessed the money, power, and fame. Crisis sees through it all. He knows the rap game isn't different from any other hustle. Crisis breaks down how dealing with record labels is a big manufacturing trade. It's not about real life situations or honesty in your lyrics. It's about sells and revenue only. But with Crisis, his music is more in your face. The lyrics Crisis put in his music, is exactly what goes on in this artists life. He keeps himself grounded with what he knows, so once he does make it to where he needs to be, Crisis will know himself as a artist. Which means, he won't be influenced into coming something he's not. Being himself and being 100 to himself is a must. So he will be able to stay 100 and true to his fans. Putting his music out in a world today that is all about politics, he knows he has to stay grounded for what he believes in. With his two kids and his hustle mentality Crisis The Rhyme Don has a strong enough foundation to set anything off.

Hip Hop in the Ville #14 Mac Million

Written by Crystal Walker
Mac Million an artist that has been flooding the blocks of Nashville, with music. Originally from Mississippi he made his way to the greater Nashville area. By the year of 2005 he made Nashville his permanent home. Around the 8th grade music really became a part of his life. Now instead of just jumping head first into this industry blind sided. He took his time to develop, not only just his talent, but, to also get a better understanding of the business behind the music. Having the advantage of being side by side a producer by the name of Cali Green. He became his visual shadow, as he worked Mac Million was right there concentrating on each and every move taking place. Not putting himself in the "average rapper" category. Mac Million kept his music close to him, depending on his mood or what he may have went through on a certain day, it all comes out through a song that is club vibe, to grown and sexy, or even gospel, he will deliver. No average rapper here, using the knowledge he gained over the years with what he already knew, he began his journey. About 3 years ago Mac Million started writing and building his own brand. Now at 34 years old and becoming a rapper, producer, and C.E.O. of Money Boyz Ent., and having dropped 4 mixtapes clearly shows you can't put a number on talent. The name of his first group mixtape was entitled,"The Money Boyz". After that, Mac Million added his solo mixtape to the streets called,"The Mac Million". The third was a group mixtape entitled,"Money Boyz Swagg So Different". Mac Million has a new mixtape with Money Boyz called,"The Gift Of Money Boyz II". Mac Million feels, that with his music he can use that to gather our younger male attention. He wants to show the young black men to be leaders and mind thinkers. Hip Hop in the Ville #13 Rod Gathings

Written by Crystal Walker
In today's age it's all about networking, no matter what field, everyone wants that tool where they can connect. From the search engines, yahoo to google, for that basic information. To myspace and facebook for your artist, friends, or family. Well, now, there is a network site just for gamers. Thanks to Rod Gathings, he is making that possible for all gamers across the world. Coming from Dayton, Ohio, he moved to Nashville attending TSU. As a college student everyone knows you have to be very creative when it comes to making a little extra cash, and Rod did just that. Rod used his gaming skills. On campus he enlisted in tournaments as well as organized them himself. Now, comparing the games that he played as a child, you can see the value in gaming now versus back in the day. Rod's first game he remembered playing was Pac Man, which took no real skill. But that compared to games today takes a whole lot more of your time, more patience, and affective strategy when it comes to defeating a stage. For Rod on campus, that, was a nesting pool for gamers, so easy to stay connected. In his dorm room, is what he noticed. He believed he should start his own social network for gamers, so once he's no longer in school it wouldn't be hard to stay or get in contact with other gamers, and different events. With Rod's strong compassion for conducting tournaments and organizing leagues he knew he could succeed in this business. Today Rod has organized a few different tournaments, some for Best Buy and Halo tournaments as well. Rod's debut date for the site to be up and going is September 8.2012. With his European writer for the site, strong global marketing plan, and his commercials he has on YouTube @ Doneson Part I and Doneson Part II"The Red Ringer and Woody". Rod sees his gaming network not only nationwide but internationally global.

Hip Hop in the Ville #12 Cope Boy

Written by Crystal Walker Coming hard straight out of South Cashville VineHill projects is our own Cope Boy. If you haven't heard or seen any of his work he describes his work being artistic. Being a recovering addict, Cope Boy music is very real and true to his life. During any performance Cope Boy transfers his energy from his music into the crowd. Which always brings a live hype performance at all times. Starting off in school attending IADT he began to become more hands on with his music. Having already written a song a year before he enrolled into school, Cope Boy took advantage of all the tools his school provided. From mastering in digital audio, engineering, graphic design, etc. Cope Boy knew that was all that was needed to begin his journey in a music career.
Cope Boy would be in the studio and just freestyle, putting all the time he could, to learn the ins and outs of this industry. Learning more and more each day, he knew he could trust in his work and handle any project that may come his way. Which has definitely put him into a position now, to not only just record a album or mixtape. Cope Boy also produces, handles photography, and graphic design. To make it in this business you have to be multi-talented when handling your own work, and to trust that it will be done correctly. Cope Boy is doing just that. He has two mixtapes out now entitled Nothing To Something Vol. I and Nothing To Something Vol. II. When it comes to his fans Cope Boy takes it serious. No arrogance, just pure gratitude.
